Volunteer Statistics

Give Kids a Smile- Quincy is blessed with many event volunteers.  The name says "Quincy", but that is only because the event is held there.  The children we serve are located from as far as 75 miles away in the most rural areas of Schuyler County, Illinois.  Typically, we have about 150 volunteers, with some events approaching 200 volunteers.  Our success would not be possible without the volunteers, nor would it be possible without the financial support of Dot Foods of Mount Sterling.  Dot Foods has been a consistent financial supporter of our program since its' inception.   Vital yearly support comes also from Goetze Dental Supply and the United Way of Adams Co.  Indispensible, literally "hands-on" support comes from the dedicated students of Quincy High School and Quincy Notre Dame High School, who act as child "ambassadors" during their time at the facility.  Many thanks to them, and the school administrations for allowing them time off from school to volunteer, and to all of the school administrators for busing the children to the event.

As with any community volunteer program, there are many unlisted helpers that donate their time and energy and without them the program would not be a success.  We have the blessing of many such volunteers, and we thank them!  And, as one might expect, the one area we are lacking is community funding.  If you can assist, or know of a business that might be able to help, please contact us!

The T.L. Gilmer GKAS clinic is held on a Friday in February, usually the week following National Give Kids a Smile Day.

The clinic is held at the Adams Co. Health Dept at 330 Vermont St., Quincy.

The clinic operates 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, and children should be expected to be in the clinic for 3 hours.
