Project Results

2018: 115 children from Adams and Brown counties attended, with a community dollar value of $46,000 in free treatment provided.  This was the first year that Brown and Schuyler counties did not participate.  In the 12 years in Quincy, area dentists, hygienists, their staffs, and over 100 other community volunteers, each year, have provided 1957 children with over $806,000 in free dental care. We look forward to 2019 where we can surpass the 2000 mark!!  This contributes to the national total of over 6 million children, and over $250 million in donated care from Give Kids a Smile.

2017: 145 children received care, totaling $56,315 in donated dental care.   

2016: 165 children received care, totaling $78,200 in donated dental care.

2015: 145 children received care, totaling $58,885 in donated dental care.

2014: 102 children received care, totaling $50,000 in donated dental care.

2013: 168 children received care, totaling $69,000 in donated dental care. 

2012: 183 children received care, totaling $79,000 in donated dental care. 

2011: 165 children received care, totaling $78,000 in donated dental care.

2010: 135 children received care, totaling $71,000 in donated dental care.

2009: 168 children received care, totaling $65,000 in donated dental care. This was the 3rd and last event held in Blessing Hospital, before the move to the Adams Co. Health Dept.

2008: 190 children received care, totaling $70,000 in donated dental care.

2007: 276 children received care in our first Quincy event, totaling $85,000 in donated dental care.

The T.L. Gilmer GKAS clinic is held on a Friday in February, usually the week following National Give Kids a Smile Day.

The clinic is held at the Adams Co. Health Dept at 330 Vermont St., Quincy.

The clinic operates 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and children should be expected to be in the clinic for 3 hours.
